The registers we hold
What a listing here means. The device has been through a type test against G98 or G99 — the engineering rules for equipment operating alongside the grid. The test that matters most is anti-islanding: when the grid goes down, the device has to stop feeding it, or it can energise a cable an engineer believes is dead.
What it does not mean. The register covers equipment, not installations. It says nothing about who fitted yours, whether it was notified to your network operator, or whether anyone involved holds MCS certification. Different categories are governed by entirely different regimes, and each category page says which one applies to it.
What we do not publish. The register carries a status field. We do not repeat it for any device, anywhere on this site. We have asked the Energy Networks Association what its values mean and have not had an answer, and every plug-in solar device on the register — including all eleven currently marked as not compliant — shows a completed full G98 type test.
